Erin's illustration for Chictopia style icons.

I found this illustration on Chictopia's twitter as its background image:

That's me on bottom left alongside with fashionispoison, camerafilmroll, aranell, inKARLcerating (his drawing is totally cute!), and Haylilly.

And also this collages (me again on the bottom left!) alongside with Akiriricky, TheStylishWanderer, classytrash, calivintage, and MSroboto =D

And if you guys are members of Chictopia, you probably notice the same drawing like the first above as a banner on your Chictopia's home page, like this:

Well then, I direct messaged Chictopia through twitter and asked if I could get this drawing and Lily Chung from Chictopia sent me this larger version of my personal illustration for me to use anywhere I'd like. Yaaayyyy!

Awww.. Totally cool drawing, rite? She drew the details so freakin well. Megathanks to Erin L. who made this fabulous illustration for the style icons this month!! I love this sooooo much <33 ps: Erin just dropped a comment below and I found her blog here! Yaaaay =D

  • black latex collared (worn as shirt): somewhere in closet
  • black loose ts: Body & Soul
  • bowy high-waisted skirt: home-made
  • black beret hat: ebay
  • diy acid wash tubular shawl: cut it from thrifted top and bleached it myself
  • metallic three straps heels: Chrysalis
  • metallic and silver handbag: Every for Invictus (local clothing store)

I felt so sleepy this morning. Thanks God, I didn't pass out. Hahaha =P
Well, this is what I wore to work today. I have this ugly latex jacket since like 8-9 years ago. Wewww. I don't even remember where I got this jacket. The shape is too usual (front zippered with shirt-like collar) but the material doesn't look that cheapo. In this outfit, I folded the collar inside and tucked it in my skirt. Hid the zippers too, so it looks like latex shirt (ehh.. I guess =P).
And the mini tubular shawl is one of my bleaching project few months ago. Cut it from this thrifted ombre tank top and bleached it =D
Oh and this is my other way to wear the beret hat ;D

one-day trip.

left to right: Hanna, Sekar, meeeeh, and Agni

Aahhh.. finally! Last Saturday was awesome!! Errr yeah I know I'm too lazy to post it here anyway. Just got a chance now =P
Well theeeen, after a crazy week, I could get away of this city to our neighbor city (well, I can't go to far =/), Semarang. We just went.. swimming? Yeah. Hahahaha. We were swimming at Water Blaster. Not too big and very cheap. About $5/person. And paying $1 more for flying fox! Nice offer, eh? I still can imagine my friends' faces when they tried this. Too silly! Hahahaha.
Too bad, bad, bad I left my cam at home (ohh how come, stupid?!) and my friend's digicam couldn't take too many pictures. Ohh great. Whatever. The most important thing was we had so much fun! I know it was just one-day trip but I was freakin happy about it. And I miss my bitches already =/

Oh yeah, see the first four pictures? Beautiful view, eh? Water Blaster is located inside a real estate called Graha Candi Golf (yeah, with golf hill). So, we were stopping at one of the hill and took pictures with awesome landscape. Haha. Oh and the last two pics are from camera phone so they look pretty crappy =P

  • white hippie blouse: H&M
  • pink-white tank top: Next
  • lace details jeans shorts: thrift store
  • ombre pink-ish scarf worn as headscarf: mom's closet
  • TV jeans necklace: Blackmimi (local clothing store)
  • white lace-up gladiator sandals: Parachute
  • royal blue tote bag: Every for Invictus (local clothing store)

And this is what I wore. I rarely use headscarf like this. Looked yay? Or did I look like crazy hippie, perhaps? Or crazy fatty hippie? Because I looked like I gained weight. A lot. Hahaha.

ps: I need more vacation like thiiiiiiiisssssss =/

Happy-Go-Lucky.

I know I'm a bit late about this but I just watched this movie few weeks ago and this is currently my fave movie and very recommended to watch!!

Photobucket
Happy-Go-Lucky

Played by a glorious Sally Hawkins, this movie shares story about a 30-year-old eternally optimistic and cheerful primary school teacher named Poppy, short for Pauline. Her life is not as bright as it looks although she keeps insisting that she's perfectly happy (smiles on her face and waves at strangers on the street and laughs incessantly) despite the fact that she's still single even though she's already reached the ripe old age of 30, super temperamental and humorless racist instructor named Scott in her driving lesson (screams En-ra-ha everytime Poppy takes the wheel. Yikes!), and her attempts to help a troubled little boy's bullying case in her classroom. But Poppy keeps moving forward and dancing (clubbing and flamenco lesson? checked!) and jumping (trampoline course? checked!) and laughing (a gurgling, burbling stream of gasps, giggles and words? checked!).

This is not 'just a movie'. It's different than other comedy movies. Just a bit typical British movies, imho. This movie is highly enjoyable (make you laugh till your jaws stiff, like what I felt. Ha), but it also carries terrible sadness.
Of course, the Oscar nod (nomination for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen) goes to Mike Leigh! Salute to him for sharing a life package of independent woman with tenderly expresses in a surrealistic interlude through this movie.

Through these pictures above, her colorful retro-hippie clothes are really inspiring. And she always wear THOSE tan cowboy boots, mostly paired with lace tights. Very catchy! Blue stripes cardigan with pink top is cool. Leopard cardigan and pink abstract top? Lovely. How about denim on denim? Fab. The jeans jacket is totally cute. Makes me want to wear more and more colors, don't you think? =D

Fave quotes
"We didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye."
- Poppy (when the bike is stolen)

"Oh! What-chu-ma-call-it ding dang dilly dilly da da hoo hoo"
- Poppy

"Blimey O'Reilly!"
- Poppy (I often blurt it out when I'm talking. Ha!)

"What am I supposed to call you?
Oh how 'bout, Poppy?
Poppy?
Yeah. No, whatever turns you on Scott, I don't mind."
- Scott and Poppy

"You can't make everyone happy.
There's no harm in trying that Zoe, is there?"
- Zoe and Poppy

But oh, one thing gets me annoyed. I googled for its soundtrack and I found zero. Oh pleaseeee.. no soundtrack list for this? I only caught one song by Pulp (an English new wave/brit pop band) called 'Common People' on the clubbing scene. It's a great song and Pulp is one of my fave band. Catchy video over here, lovelies:

  • metallic faux leather jacket: H&M
  • black bow mini dress: Screamous (local clothing store)
  • black beret: ebay
  • semi sheer black tights: Sox Gallery
  • black over the knee: Sox Gallery
  • black lace-up booties: vintage
  • black huge studded slingbag: D'loops (local clothing store)

What I wore yesterday at work. Got this dress and bag from my work-place. Hohohoho. I wore these semi sheer black tights underneath the socks. One more, sounds silly, but I used the bag chain strap as my chain necklace because I don't have any 'real' chain necklace. Hahahaha =P

  • shocking pink tanktop: random store
  • black fringe moccasin boots: custom-made
  • black suede drawstring bag: vintage

Sorry for the lack updates. This is what I wore on Friday. No chance to upload the photos till now. This is a crazy week for me. With all the work stuffs and upcoming final exam (next week!), having time to spend with some of besties to keep my social life in balance is a great thing. I don't have much time to sit in front of my compie and browsing all the way. No energy left. I can pass out anytime soon, probably. And I still have cough, for God's sake...

Well then, I need to go on vacation somewhere. With anyone. Arrrghhhhh.
Enjoy your weekend, fellas =]

hang the dj 4: burn your idol.

As I promised before, here are the bloody pics. I've picked em carefully. Too much embarrassing photos. Hahaha. It was pretty crowded and freakin HOT. We even hugged the fan. Hahaha. Again, I tell you, good music (from catchy 90's Indonesian songs like Oppie Andaresta and Gallery till Joy Division, Morrissey, and even Peter, Bjorn, & John!), good beer (2 crates for free!), good wine (old peopleee =P), good people (I met some of my friends from years ago), overall it was a good party. Anyway, please excuse my drunk face here. I was so deadly tired and high =P

Pictures tell stories. You decide.

ps: I wore a uniform tee from Slackers, home-made bowy skirt, Yves Saint Laurent vintage slingbag, and Forever 21 oxford ankle boots. In case you're wondering...

one more ps: check this band if you like punk rock: Civet. It reminds me of Suicide Girls with all those tattoos and glam hair. Hahaha. But they're awesome. Sounds like The Distillers with Juliette and The Licks (Juliette Lewis' band). "Son of a Bitch" is pretty good, huh?
