white trash circus.

  • Olivia white lace dress (worn as top): ShopDixi
  • lacey high-waist jeans shorts: vintage
  • dark brown leather belt: vintage
  • golden necklace: Blackmimi
  • duo-tone suede flat oxfords: bought in Bandung
  • duo-tone leather tote bag: Flashy

Hey guys, good news! My camera is fixed now but apparently, it's not as good as usual. It doesn't work maximally and I hate it. I still need to earn my savings to buy a new camera. Wish me luck! Anyway, sorry for the 'dark feeling' on my photos. The weather sucks and I took these pics (in hurry!) this afternoon and it was a bit raining. Hmmm.

I was very lucky to win this dress from Cocorosa's giveaway few months ago and yes, it's from my sponsor, ShopDixi. Believe me, the pictures don't do justice. It's one of the most gorgeous lace dresses I've ever seen in my life. No kidding. The lace is very soft and a bit thick but it doesn't make me sweating a lot on tropical weather like this in Indonesia. Well yeah, I wore it today and it was raining but I've worn it before on sunny day and it's very comfortable to wear, obviously =D

I rarely wear accessories but today I felt I was kinda into it so I put on this necklace before I go. And do you see my butt? Hahaha. Yes, the lace detail is really cute, eh? And the shoes are one of the most comfortable flats I've ever had. I really need to take a rest from wearing heels. Hahaha.

So, what's your plan for this weekend? I feel sorry for myself that I have a lot of work to do. Duh. Oh, and I hope I could take outfit pics more often so I won't bore you with too much editorials (or maybe it's even more interesting than my pics, huh? Hahahaha).
Have a blast weekend xo

double take.

Karl Lagerfeld photographed model Iris Strubegger as a series of famous and iconic fashion directors, including himself, for an editorial titled "Designer Double Take" in the March issue of Harper's Bazaar.

The model was superbly styled (hair by Odile Gilbert, make-up by Max DeLorme, fashion styling by Jacob K) and posed in Lagerfeld's own likeness as well as the likenesses of the following.

With his signature ponytailed coif and slim noir suit, the mastermind behind Chanel, Fendi, and his own label can never truly be duplicated. Good thing he's in on the joke.

She's the gamine's go-to, but with her unmistakable red mane the grande dame of Left Bank chic is a Parisienne in a category all her own.

DONATELLA VERSACE
Unapologetic 24/7 glamour isn't easy, yet it's child's play for Versace's bronzed and blonde lady of the house. This designing bombshell is her own best muse.

ps. Dude, my camera is broken. I need new camera. Argh.
So, I'll post some editorials till I figure out how to rob a bank to get a new camera and I'd be able to take outfit pics again. Thank you.

dr feelgood.

Photobucket

  • sequin cardigan: vintage
  • Motley Crue 'Dr. Feelgood' edition shirt: Fruit Of The Loom
  • blue bodycon skirt: Solemio @ Tomodachi
  • lace peep-toe wedges: Miint

First, do you like my new layout? I still keep it clean with white background but I thought that my blog did need more colors and a touch of purple is perfect for it, rite? I worked on this for several hours and desperately struggling with goddamn HTML. Now I feel like an HTML expert. Haha. And I'm very very excited to launch my new URL, too! Wohooooooooo. Yes, it's hereeeeeeee *super cool imaginary confetti yeah yeah*

http://www.theversicle.com/

It doesn't work maximally for these few days but I hope everything will be fixed soon! Amen.

Well, this is actually my favorite go-to outfit. I love to wear band shirts and the first era of my Lookbook photos was featuring some of my Motley Crue shirts. Yes, I love them so much! It seems very simple outfit so I decided to put on my sequin cardigan which I got last year but I never had a chance to wear it (I don't really know the exact place to go with it. Duh.) and I didn't even need any more accessories, did I? I also edited the photos so it came out 'dirty' to match the kickass-outfit, too. Hahaha =P

high street cardigans.

Photobucket

This is a story about 25-year-old girl from one of the most beautiful countries in Europe, Romania. First time I dropped on her blog, I suddenly fell in love with her super pretty outfits and her dreamy photos. Looking through her blog, post by post, makes my heart feel warm. Needless to say, she's very nice to talk with. As I promised you to do a featured blog, I've decided for my very first time to feature Ana-Maria from High Street Cardigans. Check out her interview and I hope you feel inspired =D

Photobucket

What inspired you to start a blog and how did you come up with the name?
People like you, mostly girls who can prove that being beautiful, young and in love with fashion doesn't necessarily means that you have no brain or you lack sensibility. Ohh and the fact that I always loved clothes and accessories and everything girlie :)

Who takes your photos and what camera do you use?
I use a Nikon D3000 and the photos are taken by a good friend of mine who is very passionate with photography, you can see her picture on the sidebar of my blog, her name is Cornelia and she's absolutely the sweetest, so doll like :)

Photobucket

How would you describe your style and where do you get your inspiration from?
My style is mainly lady like, I like being feminine and chic, but it may suffer updates from season to season, for example now I like high heels (which is the feminine touch) but decorated with studs, more like a rock chic touch. My inspiration comes from lots of magazine that I buy and from many creative people, blogs, street style sites , mostly from places that everybody else gets the inspiration from, I'm not that special you know :)

What is your favorite clothing or accessory item in your closet and why?
My favorite piece of clothing I own right now is a black strapless dress that I designed and I call it "the Oscar dress" because I think it looks so glamorous , and I love FOREVER AND EVER my statement necklaces, why I love them? Because they make me feel like a 19th century princess. :)

Photobucket

Are there any this season trends that you are excited about?
Yes, I'm super excited about so many of this season's trends, starting with dots and stripes and ending with wedges (which btw I hated last season :)) and lace, ohh and I don't know if its a beauty seasonal trend but I'm so into red lipstick right now.

What do you think of the street style in Romania? How does it compare with fashion scenes outside the country?
The fashion scene on the streets in Romania is constantly evolving, I see everyday more and more young people who are starting to get out of their comfort zones and take risks, be more creative with their outfits, but we still have a long way to go until we get near Paris or London. :)

Photobucket

What kind of music/movies/books do you like?
Ohh mostly listen 80's music, from rock to pop, it reminds me about the music that my parents listened when I grew up but also like to experiment lots of new age music, like today are so many genres that I just lost track of the, did you guys know that there is a genre called "doom rock experimental" goshhh I'm so old :(, I don't have a favorite movie , I normally watch all kinds of movie besides horror, now because I just love to read I have many favorites, from classics to contemporary, I like Cehov, Beigbeder, Salman Rushdie, Elizabet Gilbert , Kahlil Gibran and also Amy Tan, are a few of them. :)

I think Romania is an interesting country. Do you have any advice or places to recommend for other bloggers who might want to visit Romania?
Regarding question below, Romania is indeed an interesting country and despite the general opinion we do have lots of fun concept stores, cute places to spend free time and Yes we do have Zara and most of the mass market retailers :), but besides this we have lots of beautiful sights and if you visit the right places you can feel just like in a little urban fairytale. So if some of you want to come and visit just let me know and we will meet for tea :). Btw did you know that Bucharest was called "Little Paris" for a long time? They might have had a reason no? :)

Photobucket

After reading her lovely answer, I have another one question. It's literally random and silly question for my featured blog, as a sweet bonus. And it's basically just for fun!

You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere. You have to depart right now. Where are you gonna go and why?
Marla dear I'll answer you in a second...New York :D , If I could, I would leave tomorrow with my cat in one hand and a bag in the other. Why? Because I always felt that I belong there, don't get me wrong, I'm not imagining myself famous or rich, just had a special attraction for this city all my life :), I could do anything , doesn't matter as long as I'm there :)

Photobucket

Now, drop a visit and just say hi to Ana-Maria on her delightful blog =]

walking downtown.

Photobucket

  • satin charmeuse night jacket in peacock: American Apparel
  • fuchsia flowy blouse: Body & Soul
  • peacock satin skirt: LM for Hardware
  • silver shimmery shawl: Forever 21
  • black tie (worn as asymmetric bow belt): somewhere in closet
  • pale gray candy socks: Sox Gallery
  • black patent oxford booties: Forever 21
  • stars and hearts granny slingbag: Zara

Yo yo yo I'm back with outfit post! Sorry for not posting these few days. My mini trip to Bandung literally made me lazy to do anything. Geez. And one dummy fact about the trip, I didn't take pictures of myself on that trip. I didn't even bring my own camera. Oh yeah.

Photobucket
Photobucket

I don't know (and don't care either) if the outfit makes me look like a color-freak but I love to play with these bright colors. The skirt and the jacket are like weirdly matched-from-heaven and my habit about being "Miss Matchy-Matchy" suddenly came out through pairing these new couples. What do you think?

Photobucket
Photobucket

I've had this shawl like for...ever but I rarely wear it. I don't know. The shimmery feeling is somewhat catching every attention so I think it's kinda hard to pull off. That's why I decided to wear the plain colorful-outfit.

Photobucket

Oh, and I plan to get these candy socks in more 6586738 colors. I just love them. Period.

Chic a peek on Chictopia

I've promised that I would share few pics of last week's Copeland show but I somewhat managed to take blurry pictures with my boss' Canon EOS 350D and where I was standing is not the best position to capture great photos with standard lens. And these are the best I've got (although they're not good at all, probably...):

The show was freakin spectacular (dude, confetti and the firework-thingy on encore. fuck yeah!) and I feel really sorry to know the fact that it was a farewell tour before split-up. Sad, sad, sad. Copeland is a great band with special songs and my fave albums are the first and second (which I was madly singing out loud during the show). And thank God, it's one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life =']

Then, the day after Copeland show, I reached Dago Tea House to watch The Trees & The Wild.

Amazing performance from awesome Indonesian band and I didn't even care although it was raining. Yes, yes, I'm a big fan! Check out their beautiful folk songs here.

Sorry for posting tons of images but I can't help it. It's absolutely one of my favorite editorials, ever. Featured models here are Hanne Gaby Odiele, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Lindsey Wixson, Tina Barney, Valerija Kelava, and Vanessa Reid. This POP magz spread is cleverly inspired by one of my all-time favorite movies, The Royal Tenenbaums.

The Royal Tenenbaums is Wes Anderson's laugh-riot masterpiece that picks up on genius gone wrong theme and expanded to "wacky family" story, featuring Anderson's favorite actors like Bill Murray, Angelica Houston, and Wilson brothers. This movie is cheerfully quirky and eccentric, in a good way. Not to mention, the soundtrack is awesome! Including my fave old music such as The Clash, The Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, Nico, and Bob Dylan. Oh, and my fave character is absolutely closeted-smoker and creepy-looking Margot, which is very well played by Gwyneth Paltrow. See this movie yourself and tell me, which one is your fave character? ;D

ps. I'm currently in Bandung and I stay here until tomorrow. Last nite, I saw Copeland concert and they was freaking awesome. Full report (hopefully) pronto and hit me @theversicle for freak updates or if you want to arrange a meet-up ;D
